Rolled Fabric Rings
Happen to have some scrap fabric laying around? I know I do. LOTS of it. What do I do with it? Here's one thing- fold it, sew it, roll it and wear it:

Yep, it's pretty much as easy as that. Here's what you need to make a ring of your own.
Materials:

Using the following pictures as a guide, fold the fabric and iron the folds down. Fold the fabric, right side down, a little past the middle of the strip. Then fold the top down the same way. Now fold the bottom up to the 3/4 mark, and the fold down the remaining 1/4, so that the edge of the fabric is just about in the middle of the strip.

Take your strip of fabric to the sewing machine and sew a wide zig-zag stitch down the center to hold the folded strip together.
Here's what I had my machine set on to do the zig-zag.

Start rolling the fabric up, using hot glue to secure it along the way.

Roll the fabric up all the way, making sure to secure the end with glue. Cut out a circle of scrap fabric that is a little smaller than the rolled fabric, and hot glue onto the back. Using the E6000 or similar glue, adhere the ring blank to the back of the roll, following the manufacturer's directions.
Once the glue has dried wear your ring! Make one in every color!

Materials:
- scrap fabric (the longer the fabric, the bigger your ring)
- hot glue gun & glue sticks
- piece of scrap fabric for ring backing
- ring blank
- E6000 glue, or another super strong glue
- iron & ironing board
- sewing machine
- scissors

A Dress Redo
A few weeks ago, my mom gave me a dress. A tropical-type dress, but it was very long, shapeless, boring... you get the picture. The kind that you put on and it looks and feels like it's pulling you down. In short, I hated it. Big time. But, being the crafty one that I am, I knew I could transform it into something that I would actually wear.
Originally the dress stopped just above my ankles. Ugh. I really liked the pattern at the bottom of the dress, so instead of chopping the bottom off, I cut out the middle.

With the middle now gone, I sewed the two remaining pieced together, which meant gathering the bottom piece so that it was the same circumference as the top.
I also had slits up either side that I had to sew to close them.

All that was left was to take the pieces cut from the dress, sew them together into a sash, wrap it around my waist/the seam, and tie it in the back.

I think it turned out pretty cute!

Round Braid Bracelets
I've got another EASY tutorial. GASP!

This one is pretty easy, but since I watched a video on how to do a round braid, I won't take credit for the instructions. Here's the video I watched on YouTube:
Instead of using leather, like in the video, I cut up four pieces of scrap fabric, in this case patriotic for the Fourth of July. Using my sewing machine, I stitched the ends on one side together.

I followed the instructions in the video, and once the braid was long enough to be a bracelet that I could slip my hand through, I sewed the ends together and trimmed the excess fabric off.

I made three more the same way, and then using a piece of white scrap fabric, I tied them all together with a bow. Very quick and easy, especially if you need a quick little something for the 4th!
