Big Bubble Mailer ----> Little Bubble Mailers!
I have a stack of HUGE bubble mailers. They have been sitting in a corner, collecting dust, because when I ship something from my Etsy shop, I don't need a gigantic mailer. But I realized, why can't I turn one huge bubble mailer into four smaller mailers??? It's simple and quick to do, and I love the way they look when they're done.
Oh, before I begin... I would like to apologize for my photo qualities. I'm using my phone for images now, because my poor camera had a run-in with the toilet... and died. So, it's phone-quality images for a while! Now that that's taken care of, on to the tutorial!
You will need:
Take each quarter and trim the edges. The top two quarters already have the flap closures, but the bottom two don't. Easy fix- just cut off 1.5"-2" from the top of one piece (see picture below).
Take the two pieces to the sewing machine, and sew a straight line all the way around the three closed edges, about 1/4" from the edge. I had my machine set at about a 2 for the stitch length. Don't forget to sew backstitch at the beginning and end of your sewing, to make sure the threads don't come undone.
Trim the edges down a little, and then throw the mailer back under the machine and do a zig-zag stitch around the edges. It's added protection, and I love the look!
Love the edges! I would love to make a few with some neon thread!
There- ready for shipping. Just secure the flap with some packing tape, and you're good to go!
